A Biosimilar in Multiple Sclerosis Care in Belgium: Evidence, Confidence and Implementation
November 23 @ 16:00 – 17:00
Live webinar | Date to be confirmed | Online
Join a 75-minute expert-led webinar examining the clinical, regulatory and practical considerations involved in introducing a biosimilar into Multiple Sclerosis (MS) care in Belgium.
The programme will combine Belgian healthcare perspectives with experience from France and practical insights into MS-centre workflows. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss implementation questions during an extended panel discussion and Q&A.
About the webinar
With the expected introduction of a biosimilar treatment option in Belgian MS care, neurologists need clear and independent education on how biosimilars are assessed, approved and implemented.
This webinar will address the regulatory principles and clinical evidence supporting biosimilars, including how they differ from generics. It will also consider how international experience may inform decision-making in Belgium.
The faculty will discuss practical implementation in daily MS care, including communication with people living with MS, shared decision-making, infusion-centre pathways, multidisciplinary coordination and monitoring procedures.
Learning objectives
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Explain the regulatory framework for biosimilars and how biosimilars differ from generics.
- Relate experience from the introduction of a biosimilar in France to the Belgian context.
- Discuss the available JC virus testing approaches, including their sensitivity and specificity.
- Support informed discussion about biosimilars with multidisciplinary care teams and people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
- Consider the practical implications of biosimilar implementation for MS-centre workflows.
