Paradigms pre-MENACTRIMS Symposium 2026

December 3 @ 13:45 – 14:45

Intercontinental Festival City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

MENACTRIMS, the Middle East North Africa Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis, is a regional scientific organisation dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, education and clinical care in multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neuroimmunological disorders across the Middle East and North Africa.

MENACTRIMS brings together neurologists, researchers, healthcare professionals and experts from across the region and internationally, creating a platform for scientific exchange, collaboration and education.

Through its scientific and educational activities, MENACTRIMS aims to support healthcare professionals in navigating a rapidly evolving MS landscape and translating advances in research, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment into meaningful improvements in clinical practice.

Held in conjunction with MENACTRIMS, the ParadigMS Pre-MENACTRIMS Symposium is a focused scientific and educational meeting bringing together experts in multiple sclerosis to explore how emerging tools and biomarkers can support more personalised approaches to MS management.

As the MS treatment landscape becomes increasingly complex, clinicians have access to a growing range of information beyond conventional clinical assessment. Advanced imaging, fluid biomarkers and digital technologies offer new possibilities for detecting disease activity, evaluating treatment response and identifying patients who may be at greater risk of progression.

The symposium will examine how these developments can move from scientific promise towards meaningful application in everyday clinical practice.

  • How technological, imaging and fluid biomarkers may contribute to more personalised MS treatment decisions.
  • Which biomarker signals may help identify subclinical disease activity, treatment response and progression risk.
  • The role of imaging biomarkers in monitoring inflammatory activity, neurodegeneration and smouldering disease.
  • How serum neurofilament light chain and other fluid biomarkers may be interpreted in clinical practice.
  • How digital and wearable technologies may complement clinic-based assessment by capturing real-world function over time.
  • The key limitations, confounding factors and standardisation issues affecting biomarker interpretation.
  • How biomarker information can be integrated with clinical judgement, MRI findings, patient characteristics and treatment goals.
  • Which biomarkers are closest to routine clinical implementation and which remain primarily investigational.
  • How biomarker strategies may be adapted to different healthcare systems and levels of resource availability.
